No. He is 26. His numbers only improved because of an increase in minutes. Vasquez will not improve. You can't add speed and athleticism to someone who is currently in their prime physically and doesn't have those things.

He can become more efficient and his role can be more defined to focus on his strengths. Also, I disagree that he can't become a better athlete. I look at someone like Nash, who didn't start until a bit later in his career (25 or so), and it is possible to become a better player and athlete. He just needs the right approach and he'll have to bust his arse to get it done... It can happen..

OK, this is going too much into Vasquez been able to become a better athlete or not. I just want to know, if you think that a PG (whoever it is) with Vasquez's defensive limitations, and posting the stats I posted (15 PPG, 9.5 APG, 48% FG%, 38% 3p% 3 TO pg, 13 shots PG and 0.5 hero per game, could be a decent starting PG in the NBA?

No it can't. Really. Nash was incredible. He was fast, and had incredible court vision. Vasquez on the other hand, is slow, and has poor court vision. Like I've said in the past, assists do not equal good court vision. Especially late in the season, Vasquez was always looking for his shot. He drove and dished. How many fast breaks did Vasquez fail miserably on? How many lobs? How many times did he drive and try his floater only to miss for the tenth time in a game? He is not good now, and he never will be. He is serviceable. He has alot of decent abilities but he is not someone that should be the starting point guard for any team
