Pek is by far the best C available.
Well some people think Al Jefferson is better, even if he isn't, Pek isn't better by that much.

Al Jefferson- one of the best power forwards in the league. If he was a center and better than pek, he would probably still be in minny instead of pek. Just my thoughts.

Well Minnesota also thought Darko would be a good replacement for Jefferson.

The two are the same size and Al Jefferson has consistently put up better numbers than Pek. Al Jefferson can also go to work in the post offensively while Pek isn't someone you can run the offense through. I just think Al Jefferson isn't as big of a risk and with him being from Mississippi he might be actually interested in coming to New Orleans.

Pek doesn't have a glaring defensive deficiency against the P&R from what little I know...

He has played center longer in the NBA than Pek has even been in the league.

You keep one upping the stupid shite you're saying

The distinctions between C and PF have faded for years, hence the proliferation of the term "Bigs". Same thing with SF and SG, "wings".
There are way more players than are interchangeable. A lot of the time you want a player for matchups or to pair with another guy.
In this case you're looking for a good pair with AD. Both Jefferson and Pek can pair well with him, for different reasons.

pek has been playing pro ball since 05. his euro contract situation is what kept him from the nba. just like a lot of the guys that teams want. he was projected a top ten in his class.
none of this has absolutely nothing to do with current production though.

understood. but there still is distinction between a the true center & pf's. and it's up to which guy the team wants. al is better and more productive getting the ball outside of the block perimeter. pek is better closer to the rim.
my observation is that teams who settle for less than traditional center play have premium production in the backcourt. i don't see that in nola.

Al can't play defense.
Pek next to Ad or Ryno would be sick.
