What do you think the gap is for the average weekend golfer??
id say 17 yards
ex: Guy thinks he crushed it 280 but more like 263.
Some ppl have no clue how far a 300 yard drive is

I hit legit 230-240 off the tee. I wish I could hit either, but oh well.

Nobody counts the number of paces from the tee to their ball anymore, because they're all in carts.

Title should be perceived distance vs OT distance

Had 130 out both days on 18 at Beaver during the tournament. :flex:

What I find is that you have a guy who hits his driver 245 yards 98% of the time. He hits a legit 300 yard drive once every 2 or 3 rounds of golf and tells people he can drive it 300. Technically he can; when he hits the center of the face of his driver; and the fairway is slanted down hill; with the wind; 1/35 drives.

I hear guys all the time talking about how far they hit their driver but when I've seen them play they aren't any longer than me and I only hit it 240-250 tops. I got in the habit of checking my actual distance a few years ago just out of curiosity and now I always find myself checking my GPS to figure it out.

In all fairness, Ryno skews the results

I was playing with a guy who always thinks he hits 300yard bombs, and I told him "you sure about that?" Went and played with him, 255-260!! The only reason I know for sure is that when we pulled up to his ball I would turn around and scope the group behind us in the tee box... He didn't like that very much

I average about 315.

I'd say its way more than 17 yards.

I worked a guy who claimed he could hit it 320-330. I was blasting it by him the first time we played (and no I don't hit it farther than he claimed he hit
)

An engineer I work with bought a Callaway Razr Fix Xtreme and tells me he's hitting it over 300 consistently. The time I had played with him he was about 265 avg with his old driver....seems like way too much gain to be true.

poor people who dont either have a gps on them or play somewhere where a gps isnt included on the cart have this problem.
Not me.
