Is it worth membership for the maps? Are the maps specific or just "here's a good place to launch and fish in this area from that launch spot"? What other benefits? I emailed them asking for a list of benefits months ago and never heard back.

Yes. You also read reports and whatnot. It's worth it IMO

Saw a car today where I live with two K-2's stacked on top of each other on the roof.

I saw the same thing. Had to be the same car. I saw them getting off the interstate at Prairieville.

I was an officer. If you can get past the political bullshite that is in there it is a great club to be in.

There are lots of great members who will def help you out with anything you need to know and take you to their spots.

But don't piss off the golden children of the club

It's probably worth it for at least a year. You get the maps plus there's a lot of info on rigging and other general kayak questions (but that might be in the free section).

Venice? I would never get in a kayak around that river or any of the passes. Where are you going?

I figured you were going to the wheel if you are fishing Venice in a yak.

I don't have a yak but I go over to the free section occasionally to gather info for a potential purchase and places to fish close to home.

Problem is that I have a 9 yo who loves to fish. I don't think he can handle a yak solo, but would be if I went fishing without him
