Wow. Quicksilver, of all characters, is about to get all kinds screentime. Interesting I guess.
Oh and just in case this gets your hopes up of characters from other studios showing up with the Avengers..

Was this ever confirmed? I guess it doesn't really matter, because I believe that whichever movie comes out first will have the rights. And that's going to be X-Men

Well, Wikipedia tells me that Evan Peters is 26 years old. So I think the guy/website that wrote that 2nd quote may have missed the mark on speculating t would be him as a younger character.

You are not wrong. I did suffer some regret from starting that thread a tad prematurely.
As far as the news goes, I really don't care. Whedon has a real affinity for the characters and I'm sure we'll see a fun version of them, as Singer seems to be just using the character now that he see's he'll be a huge part of the impending blockbuster.
There is going to be a glutton of characters in XMEN:DOFP, but that may be appropriate if they're mainly in the "future" getting slaughtered.

I didn't read any of the links in this thread, but a blog post I read yesterday indicated that we could end up seeing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in both universes, but in the MCU they wouldn't necessarily be Magneto's kids or be called 'mutants'. Would have different last names also.
But I have a feeling that Singer is just pulling a douche move on this one because Whedon has been public about wanting to use those characters.

I always imagined quicksilver as being a guy in his late 30's/early 40's. Maybe he'll be in a past timeline?

At one point very early in their history, the entire Avengers team consisted of Cap, Hawkeye, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.
For the sake of nostalgia alone, I wouldn't mind seeing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch pop up for parts in the movie. Maybe they'll have the old Cap' Kooky Quartet go on a side mission of some kind that requires stealth and skill more that muscle while the heavy hitters like Thor, Iron Man and the Hulk square off directly against the bad guys.

Not if they do it like the Ultimate Version (without the incest).
In the Ultimate Marvel Version, Wanda has to make the precise calculations every time she uses her power. The more drastic the change, the more difficult the calculation.

I did not know that. (wasn't reading CB's when Ultimates came around).
Sounds a lot like the infinite improbability drive in Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Now if they'll come up with a character whose powers are based on the way numbers behave only in Italian Bistros, I'll be a happy camper.
