Hammertime does but I'm not sure what he said and it probably hasn't been long enough yet. He ssid something racial in the pink shirt at the Chevron thread.

Doesn't look so bad. Does seem a bit reckless to hang out next to concrete pillars in a thunderstorm in a boat that might get damaged being pushed into a concrete pillar. Maybe he just wanted to see how she handles in the rough stuff.

If you were out there, you'd be in the exact same place as he is. He's out of the rain, close to something to grab on to, should the boat capsize. Plus, all those pilings are breaking the waves a little. Get out away from the bridge and you'd be tossed around like a turd in a wave pool.

Ah, no biggie. I'm sure he knows to stay centerline and bow into wind. Figuring average depth of 2.5 fathoms, he could just drop and purposefully drag anchor for stability.

Folks, sorry, but this is not what I'd consider dangerous, just irritatingly wet, windy, and cold.

I've been on Lake P in much worse stuff than this.

Hey buddy! I'm back! Thanks for your support!

ETA: Another down vote. Awesome. I guess I should have said your buddy is fricking stupid for not looking at the radar.

He'll be fine if he knows what he's doing. But seeing he went out with frontal boundary approaching he can't be the sharpest feller.

I know 2 or 3 different people who spent the night holding onto an ice chest on that lake in bad weather. This is not something to take lightly IMO.

I wasn't saying it was a good idea to go today. I think he's an idiot for going out in the first place. I'm just saying I don't think that's a bad place to be if you get caught out and can't get in. I've sat under a crossover waiting on a little summer squall to pass before. It was much better than sitting out in the wide arse open lake with 2" of rain per hour dropping in the boat and getting beat up by wind and waves. I've been broken down in Vermillion Bay in a storm 3x worse than this one today. Tossed around at sea with wind, waves, strong tides, sideways rain, and lightening sucks. At least under that bridge you feel safe from something.
