now you just need to watch generation kill.
Yeah, if you're interested in a war mini-series, Generation Kill is great. Read the book too, and read One Bullet Away. Generation Kill was written by a Rolling Stone reporter that was embedded with a Marine unit that invaded Baghdad in 2003. One Bullet Away was written by the officer in charge of that unit.
It's pretty cool to read two different viewpoints narrating the same series of events, and the miniseries was well done.

Love Band of Brothers. I have it on DVD and try to watch it at least twice a year. Usually around June 6th, and usually around Christmas.
I've also read
and
Both great books

They were both great books. Nathaniel Fick is the author of One Bullet Away, and Evan Wright wrote Generation Kill.

I read Dick Winter's autobiography, it was incredible. I found myself being more regimented with my life while reading it. I need to read it again it really gives a perspective on how the mundane day to day prepares you for hardships.

BoB probably has one of the best casts to ever be put on film, ever.
There are no (at the time) big name stars. The ones that make you go "Oh, there's Tom Hanks/Brad Pitt" Closest it got was the Friends guy (who was great at playing a shithead Commanding Officer) and Jimmy Fallon.
It's always great to see BoB "alums" in other things over the years. How Rob Livingston hasn't been in more things since BoB and Office Space, I don't know.
