So it's not buried in a 40pg pole smoking fanboy thread of arguing children...

Oh, two more things. Volker hinted that dogs will play a part in multiplayer, either as player companions or even as playable avatars. There will also be an advanced customisation option with players able to change the faces, bodies, helmets and outfits of their characters.

That sounds awesome

During the brief video at the start of the presentation, Rubin says this: "The story opens with a mass event, America is crippled, the military forces are devastated, the government is in disarray, and as the player you're actually the underdog, fighting back against these superior forces."

That sounds Red Dawnish and awesome.

We're introduced to a cavalcade of improvements. There's a better lean system, which lets you look out over battlefield from cover; the animation is more intuitive and reactive – when your character runs at a wall, he'll just leap over, maintaining momentum. The team has also added a slide mechanic which lets you slip straight out of line of fire, or into an offensive position. It looks like the sliding in Bulletstorm – and indeed, much of this sounds familiar. But here, the screen is alive with detail and activity.

Again very awesome.

Not sold on it yet but the good news is it doesn't sound or look like shite.

These are Battlefield and Medal of Honor Warfighter current generation mechanics. They are cool mechanics, but like that South Park episode..."Simpsons did it!"

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Well, after the Russkies somehow knocked out every single shred of attack prevention the continental United States had, subsequently launched an aerial invasion that was somehow successful, all the while they no conceivable end-game we are led to believe they have troops all over the damn place and this was all a result of some terror attack or something I have to admit I am kinda curious to how they go about explaining this. My friends said i was too nit picky but jesus tap dancing christ, how in god's name was any of that supposed to make sense? Oh well, at least my rifle had like 800 scope variations or whatever.

ETA: i want to apologize for the absolute atrocity that is my paragraph but the idea remains true

ETA2: edited for english speakers...kind of
