Why on Earth would we take Otto Porter (likely to be a solid starter over his career)over Ben McLemore (potential all-nba star)?
I agree. If you pick #1 and do not have a need for Noel, McLemore is the player to take the chance on. If we got #1, I would love to trade back, but not sure who would give up much value to get up to #1.

So we all agree that winning the lottery would actually mean us getting the #3 pick?
...that means that we could actually win the lottery two years in a row, but this time, without people crying about a fix.

Define "much value" in this case.

We wouldn't get a 3-draft bounty like Orlando got from Golden State for Chris Webber, but I think we could pick up some additional picks and/or a useful veteran in order to move back 2-3 spots, depending on how desperately someone wants Noel or a different guy.

Cleveland has #30 (last 1st), two early 2nds, Tyler Zeller and Maurice Speights.

Orlando has Moe Harkless and Tobias Harris.

If we move back, get a player or a high 2nd, and get the right to switch picks 1-2 years down the line, it may be worth it to pay less and get the guy we want.

Phoenix has #30, Cleveland has #19 to go with #31 and #33. You may be able to get the 19 from Cleveland in a trade down along with a bench player if you are lucky. Orlando would not part with Harris or Harkless in a trade up (or I would do it in a heartbeat).
