That was actually an older script brought up on here last year but they didn't have the funds or something to make the movie

eta: if they indeed could not get funding and it wouldn't get made without kickstarter I will retract most of my anger at it. I still don't like the trend VM set but I am somewhat ok with it if it legitimately would not get made without the campaign.

The show is so much better than the movie and that's not a knock against the movie. The show is just that good. "The Son" may be the best episode of television I've ever seen.
A movie based on the series would be cool if they could get all of the major characters of the show on board.

just google friday nights movie finished script. They were finished sometime last year. I wonder why the movie hasn't been made.

I hope Friday night lights doubles what VM and ZB does so they can start shooting in a few months instead of going nowhere for years.

And Friday night lights had a script a year and never started. I wonder why. You just answered my question. As soon as FNL gets the money they will start shooting. You can't say its good for your cause but not for everyone else's.

CP3 is correct that Berg said he had a finished script.
however, if y'all had read the bit I posted from Wiki, Peter Berg also has said the issue with making the movie has to do with the actors availability.

I've been watching but I'm usually a few days to a week behind b/c I've been working a ton lately... so I've been avoiding the threads/spoilers. ftr, I really enjoyed this season a lot more than the last couple. I think next season has a lot of potential.
