Madden tried to do what he could by breaking Calvins fingers. He thought that a WR's main asset were his hands so of course, broken fingers would hamper Calvins success. NOT SO FAST. Megatron, like AP, isn't human.

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (fingers) confirmed he played with broken fingers last season. He has been trying to straighten them out this offseason, but didn't have surgery.

Didn't we already know this?

Regardless, Calvin Johnson is a monster.

Actually, he recently came out and said it was true, according to Rotoworld, the Bible of football news.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk.com that Calvin Johnson did not play last season with broken fingers. PFT's story is disputing a report from the Detroit News, which includes a Q-and-A with Megatron that contains no specific quote where he claims to have played with broken fingers. It's a non-issue at this point, of course. Johnson is 100 percent healthy. Still only 27 years old, he'll look to finish as the No. 1 overall fantasy receiver for a third consecutive season in 2013.

I'm not denying that Calvin Johnson is amazing, but isn't it fairly typical for NFL receivers to play with dislocated fingers and the like? I remember watching an interview with Antonio Freeman a while back and his fingers were jacked up. All his knuckles were busted out. I think he said that he couldn't even wear his SB ring.
