Question for the OB. Dove season usually opens Labor Day weekend. This year, Labor day is Monday, September 2nd. Which means August 31st is the Saturday before. Will dove season open on August 31st or September 7th? I am planning my on call schedule for work and need to make sure I get this right.

Pretty sure North zone opens September 1st regardless of the day in Texas. South zone opens 3 weekends later

wrong. Dove season can't open until September, so it will open Saturday, Sept. 7th in La.

No. Never in August. Do none of you remember the fact that it has opened on a weekend different than labor day before?

still can't open til September per the Feds. Doves are migratory. If you are lucky it will open on Sunday, Sept. 1st, like in Texas.

I had a dream about dove season last night.

What are the odds.

They are everywhere in North La right now. I have never seen so many.

Can't wait. I'm saving up vacation to use once dove season gets here.

I'm pretty sure it will open on the 7th.

Sunflowers and millet are in the ground. Taking the water truck for a little irrigation this afternoon.
