This showed up on my twitter feed. Apologies if this has been posted before.

I love the idea that Walken should have played him

I want to know if that dude who said "I will NOT see this movie if he's in it" stayed true to his word.

I had a positive reaction but reading Adrian Brody was being considered for the role had me intrigued

I was one of these people. I was heavily rooting Sean Penn to get the role. Say what you will about him as a human being, but he would make a great Joker. Hopefully they do a live action "The Dark Knight Returns" soon and cast him.

I think it's a looooooooooooong time before they bring the Joker back to the big screen after Ledger's performance.

He was my number two honestly. Anyone who was thinking Depp, Glover, or Williams were off their rocker completely though.

Rumors among Batman's next film is a film set almost entirely on Arkham Asylum, so I seriously doubt it if this film project comes to fruition, with the sequel rumored to be Arkham City.
As good as Heath was, he did not provide the definitive version of the Joker; that honor goes to Mark Hamill. Heath was the perfect Joker for Nolan's universe, but he's lacking on a lot of aspects that make the Joker the Joker. The Joker isn't really all that funny in Nolan's version, simply just terrifying. Not to mention he doesn't use any of the lethal gag items or his original story. But then again, they shouldn't have been there in Nolan's version of Gotham either, so it works to his advantage.
Hamill's Joker you could see doing just about anything any of the Joker's do. He could poison all the makeup for the hell of it making every smile to death. He could go into a priceless art gallery and just paint over them destroying their value. He would light hundreds of millions of dollars on fire with a man on top. And he'd rig two boats in order for one to blow up the other. He was the perfect iteration really.
I honestly expect to see him back on the big screen by the very least 2020. I hope they go the route of the Bond franchise and don't have them really tie together much at all and just really ignore continuity almost altogether.

This. Just trust the director who has lead you the right way. I remember the day it happened. Everyone was like the guy from that terrible comedy/romance and A knights tale

Please tell me he's seen Star Reboot 2 and has been in the review threads. I'm going to see it tonight and will finally get to go in that thread. I get a good laugh out of his bagging of the reboot.

I agree with all of this. Maybe he wasn't the atypical Joker, but he fit in Nolan's vision of Gotham.
And I would say he's funny, but a kind of funny that makes you nervous, if that makes sense. I was shocked, but also, laughed my butt off at the "magic trick".

That, him dressing as the nurse, and when he was blowing up the hospital were the only time I really laughed at him.
