If only it was that easy. We have done that for hogs and the only seem to becoming a worse problem. Pythons will thrive here...only a matter of time. Hard to imagine the problems that can be caused by thoughtlessly releasing some snakes that were no longer wanted.

No, if it was "like hogs" then the state would spend 10+ freaking years with its head in its arse before gradually relaxing restrictions on killing them, all while the invading species thrived, multiplied and gained a strong foothold in many areas.

Nah. Just turn Troy Landry loose on em. If a man can catch 400 gators in three weeks pythons shouldnt be a problem. And it would cut down on the nutria population.
