Eades has been fine the past few weeks save Ole Miss. People need to realize he is going to put base runners on most innings but will work out of it most times. He's been that type of pitcher since he's been here.
I think most of us who follow closely know he puts runners on to get out of jams, trouble is he hasn't been nearly as good as he was since the kentucky series

Some of his recent starts.
South Carolina: 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
Florida: 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K
Texas A&M: 6.1 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Doesn't seem too bad to me.

Ryan Eades pre Arkansas start:
53.2 innings pitched
50 hits
9 runs
8 earned
13 walks
51 strikeouts
59 flyouts
46 groundouts
Post Kentucky starts:
31.1 innings pitched
40 hits
20 runs
18 earned
13 walks
20 strikeouts
32 flyouts
34 groundouts
The amount of hits per inning, runs, walks, and strikeouts is alarming to me. Its okay for an average pitcher, but we were expecting more

I never said he's been as good as he was earlier in the season. But people act like he has pitched like crap every time out recently and that's not the case at all.

pitching to contact, for alot of pitchers, leads to problems.....guys who get K's leave less to chance. Eades hasn't done that nearly as well as he had earlier. He hasn't bee horrible, but 18 runs in the last 31 innings aint exactly good.

i think people are just paranoid after what happened to him over the last month of the 2012 season. Unless he gets hurt, there is nothing at all to worry about with eades, other than maybe a couple baserunners

Its a combination of how he struggled late last year, and his struggles late this year

I'm not that concerned about him at all. 3 of his last 4 starts have been quality ones.

Using the stats posted above he had an ERA of 1.34 before Arkansas and since has jumped to 5.17. That is a cause for concern.

If Eades is our 3rd best pitcher, we win the CWS.

You can manipulate stats anything you want to. His starts against Arkansas and Alabama were over a month ago. In his last 4 starts (including the bad one against Ole Miss), his ERA is 3.08.

Even in his good outings his pitch location hasnt been that good. Against USC he was fortunate to get outs, lit of hard hit balls, he left alot up. Anyways, i hope he doesnt pitch this week and we cant get him ready for regionals

Fine but he's not a liability out there on the mound waiting to fall apart at any second. Most teams would kill to have him as part of their rotation.
