Good news for those of us who watch the show. One unnamed cable network and Amazon are both interested in picking up season two if NBC axes it, according to Deadline.

quote:

But among returning scripted series, only one, NBC drama Hannibal, went through the upfronts without learning its fate. The series, from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller, got off to a solid ratings start and was in serious contention for an early renewal. The numbers eventually tapered off, and NBC put the renewal decision on hold. Hannibal was well reviewed, and I hear there has been interest from at least one cable network in case NBC passes on a second season. Additionally, I hear Amazon, which currently carries repeats of the show, has expressed interest in taking it on. There are no talks going on and Hannibal has not been shopped as the producers are waiting on a renewal at NBC.

Deadline link.

I'd like to see A&E pick it up and run it back-to-back with "Bates Motel" next season. Since NBC cancels everything, I think it's only a matter of time before "Hannibal" finds its way to another network.

how do you watch it if Amazon picks it up?

I don't plan on paying for ever episode.

It needs to stay free

I'd JIMP if HBO or another premium cable channel got a hold of it. Oh, the possibilities.

Not 100% sure, but I believe you either have to be a Prime member, or pay individually for each episode.

Sometimes you still have to pay per episode even if you're a prime member, but that is normally shows that are owned by another network.

Prime is only $79 a year and that includes free 2-day shipping, so it's not a bad deal.

It is if you don't order shite online.

If it gets cancelled and Amazon picks it up, the show is over for me.

i saw that deadline article yesterday after i finally had a chance to watch last week's episode...i mentioned it in episode thread, but it moved off the first page pretty quickly.

i don't want nbc to cancel the show, but i think it would have a much better shot at making it on a cable network...and i'm sure the content would only benefit as well.

frick NBC, I love this show. If this gets cancelled I'm done watching network TV until a show makes it to season 3.

It is great on NBC, so I hope they keep it. However, the network that gave Whitney a second season will probably cancel it.

It would be great on FX or AMC. I would love to see what HBO could do with it, but I don't see that happening.

Amazon could possibly back it financially and it could air on AMC or A&E, similiar to what Netflix is doing with The Killing.

This is good news because I think NBC is going to axe it. This show is too good to let go off the air.

I hope this trend of shows getting a possible second chance continues to get bigger. I dont watch this show but if is successful it could open the door for a future show that i like thats about to get axed to get a second life on another network or platform

I started a thread last week about wanting to watch it but I was hesitant because it was on NBC. Gonna wait now and see what happens, would be pissed if it got canceled and moved to Amazon. Wouldn't mind someone like AMC or FX picking it up though.

I wasnt talking about any show in particular, just a hypothetically good show that i like that Fox/NBC/ABC will cancel because it wants 4 more hours of American Idol/The Voice/Dancing with the Stars or some bullshite like that

Can't believe that The Following gets renewed but Hannibal is likely going to be cancelled. People just don't know what's good.

I love this show. Hannibal is by far the best drama any of the major networks have had in a long time. NBC is joke. I honestly don't mind where it ends up as long as they keep the main show runners involved. The best drama they've had since Hannibal was Southland and they let that one go. Thankfully TNT picked it up. I think A&E would be a great fit alongside bates motel. FX would be good too, but I don't see that happening. I'm really excited for their series The Bridge.

I watch the following strictly for its ridiculousness and because it was on Mondays. I watch Hannibal because its fricking good.
