I really don't see why he's ranked so high on 247. I mean, he looks like a good athlete and has a decent arm. Outside that, what makes him a great QB? His accuracy isn't that great. He can run which is nice but I'd rather see more of what he can do throwing the ball. I see a good arm but inconsistent accuracy. I don't care what anyone says about coaching accuracy, you either have it or you don't. He doesn't have it. Sometimes he's accurate and then you'll see the next pass hit the WRs feet.

Accuracy can be improved at a young age, he's not in college nor the NFL so he has way more room to grow. You either have arm strength or you don't, you either have speed or you don't. Decision making, pocket presence, mechanics, footwork, accuracy, can all be improved with hard work and a competent QB coach. The guy is only 17 for goodness sakes.

I'm glad that we have a talented QB in Louisiana and a legit QB coach to teach him. Maybe he challenges Rettig for Jennings' successor or maybe he gets processed, but you take this gift of talent and make him compete and make your depth more talented by the outcome.

I really don't buy that. I believe everything you mentioned is natural just like arm strength. It's very rare you ever see a guy go from being completely inaccurate with his passes to full blown accurate. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a QB do it. It's the same with pocket presence. These are just natural gifts to a QB and coaches are stubborn enough to think they can coach them up. This is why you get high bust % at QB in the NFL. They see a natural athlete that lacks the areas of their game you mentioned and think they can coach it up. Very rarely happens.

That's why I'm excited with Jennings. He already shows accuracy and excellent pocket presence. Mett is a 5th year college player and Jennings in the spring game showed more pocket presence than Mett last year. The only time you really saw Jennings miss a pass on accuracy was chemistry with his WRs. Now that's definitely something that will improve. I'm just not a fan of grabbing QB because he runs fast and has a superman arm. I'd rather a guy who is more well-rounded and polished in areas I don't believe can be coached well. Jennings doesn't have a great arm but you see the polish I'm talking about in other areas.

You can coach things like accuracy up a little bit but I think it's overblown on how much coaches think they can impact. As for Harris, I'm just basing that off what I saw so far. It's possible he could've just progressed that much and I'm completely wrong. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
