I feel like if you're a Bills fan, you have to be cringing at this.

Why? Jimbo runs a pretty complex offensive system.

Jimbo runs a complex offensive scheme. The MSB is full of fad posters. Someone feels a certain way, so everyone else does. Right now the hit thing for Bills fans is to bitch about Manuel.

EJ is growing on me. I'm still undecided if I want him to start the season or have Kolb begin.

Either way Bills are fricked, so might as well throw in EJ and experience some growing pains

And what does that have to do with anything? He is also not Geno Smith, and it seems most teams find that to be a good thing.

The kid has the athletic tools and he has a great work ethic. The Bills could have certainly done worse.

I'd let him ride the bench for a couple seasons. Let him get comfortable with the way pro organizations are run.

EJ is far from ready to start imo. He needs more time to develop. I don't think he would play badly, though (if he had to start).

b/c the expectation of taking a QB that early now is they need to be ready day 1, it might not be right but thats whats happening.

um ok, Geno was a better college QB and much more polished passer. EJ is going to need some work it would have been better if he went somewhere to have time to devlope b/c he can be very good

This is more of a bitching about the Bill's offense post. Simpler than a college offense isn't gonna cut it in the NFL. Jamarcus Russell mastered Fishers offense, it can't be THAT complex.

Who knows. Kolb is just a transitional piece. He's obviously not the future so maybe if he can do a decent job and the Bills have a respectable season, EJ takes over in 2014.

I wasn't fond of the pick at first, but after learning more about Marrone's direction and the system, you could do a lot worse than most teams with a nucleus of Manuel, Spiller, Woods, Stevie and a young defense

exactly why Blo is a bad spot for him, a team that takes a QB the high and has a no real QB already will be expecting him to come in right away and make an impact.

Geno completed two percent more of his passes. Much better QB? bullshite.

EJ has so much potential. I watched just about every game of his at FSU and he really could have been a national title type QB. If he made a few better decisions we would have been undefeated last year.

I was also a huge LSU fan when Jimbo was at LSU and saw all of his QBs there. Manuel is on par with Jamarcus in terms of talent, but Manuel is much, much smarter.

of course but good coaches can adapt to the strengths of their players. If EJ was a better passer jimbo would have thrown more and if geno wasn't a good passer he would have been benched b/c Dana is hard headed
