I'll admit, the hits was an oversight thinking like MLB where everyone plays 162 games.. .I replaced it with Hits/Game and also added in OBP
Sure enough, Vandy did top the polls... by 0.25 points. ~0.4 points
it was an oversight

Conversation picked up after I went to bed. Good morning fellas. Mylsuhat, if you go to d1baseball, baseballamerica and NCAA.com you will have all the stats, game summaries and scores you need to make a informed decision without looking crazy for havin Campbell 6 and APSU 13 but I like the effort.

If you are going stat based alone, I would think runs scored/game and runs allowed/game would be included. ERA isn't all inclusive either (see Ar-kansas). Can't go by wins/losses and then go by win%/rank too, again, that is double dipping on selected stats. I'm sure there is a way to do a stat-only based comparison and come up with a decent ranking, but it hasn't been discovered yet. Looking at results and using human logic and human opinion is still the only way for now.
