Hangout Fest - Sat. review / Getting fricking ready for Stevie tonight

Just figured I would post my thoughts on who I saw yesterday.
Walked in yesterday and caught the majority of "The Werks", the were really funky and put on a great show. Then I went and posted up in front of the main stage all day. And before I get started in the bands I must say the actual main stage set up is one of the best I have seen at any festival. The sound, ights and everything really enhance the whole production.
At 1:30 saw Shovels and Rope - absolutely killed it, go see this band if you have a chance. There didn't play a bad song the whole, and that girls voice is sooooo sexy. Two people on a huge stage and they rocked the shite out of it. Not a whole lot of bands I would see over them. Sorry for rambling but they really were that good.
Give mule cane on at like 330 and did their thing. Classic mule, warren was in pure rockstar mode, just Rockijg out. Really quality show.
Black Crowes played at around 6:00 I think and they destroyed their set. I was not going in with huge expectations and everybody in the area was absolutely blown away by what they threw down. The sun was starting to go down behind the stage and rays of light where busting through the set up and sort of framing the band as they were looking out. Anyway I can't express enought how good of a set they played. We decided the best way to put it was old school, down and dirty mother fricking rockfest.
And then Tom Motherfricking Petty. I am an a-hole for ever remotely thinking that he was old or wasn't going to bring it. Band is phenomenal. Every song he brings it down like it is a second set closer. One of the best songbooks of all time and he played it all to a point.
One of the better days of music I have seen at any festival from start to finish. Everyone i saw far outstripped my expectations. I would have liked to wander a little bit more to see the roots and some others but it was just too much of a hike. And we want to keep out spots. Really looking forward to today. Hope someone reads this long arse post and picks up the next shovels and rope or the Werks album.

They are today, I've got to look at the schedule to see what all is going on and when. Got work tomorrow morning so I'm gonna take it easy today. No alcohol is the main goal.

I've been to a lot of concerts but the one time I saw Tom Petty in the late 90 was arguably the best concert I had ever been to. He's very good live and you're his band sounds great live.
