Just stumbled across this. Thought it would be interesting to note some great players came through the pelicans such as shoeless Joe Jackson and Earl Weaver,

Actually, when Benson and company announced the name change, they specifically referenced the baseball team and its historical significance. It was a successful franchise.

hopefully he'll hurry so Charlotte can get the "Hornets" back. "Bobcats" may be the worst name in the history of professional sports.

Hornets is up to the league now.
