Sauteed Apples for Pancakes

Never done this, but got a wild hair - will make for the kiddos tonight.
So, melt butter, add slices, brown a bit, add brown sugar and cinnamon. Is that about it?
Do I need an acid (lemon/orange juice)? Vanilla?

i put vanilla extract in my batter. i guess you could add a little to the apples. definitely cinnamon.
