Parkway's Harris selected for All-American Bowl
Jun. 19, 2013 8:39 PM
Parkway quarterback Brandon Harris received another honor on Wednesday when he received a letter indicating his selection to the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl roster.
The selection is awarded to 90 of the country’s top prep football players.
“If I had to describe the past few months, I would have to say they have been mind-blowing,” Harris told The Times previously. “It’s been really crazy. It’s something I wouldn’t have thought in a million years would happen to me.”
Since landing an initial offer from Louisiana Tech, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Harris has rapidly developed into one of the most highly recruited players in the state. According to most recruiting sites, the senior has standing offers from national champion Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Arkansas and Ohio State among his 29 current choices. He has said he plans to visit LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
The All-American Bowl will be televised live on NBC from San Antonio’s Alamodome on Jan. 4. The bowl says that more than two million football fans watched the 2013 game, while 40,000 were on hand in the stadium.
The selection committee for the game includes people at 247 Sports and All American Games, producer of the bowl.
Harris is rated as the state's top quarterback prospect by most recruiting services. 247sports.com ranks him as a four-star prospect, while Rivals.com ranks him as a three-star prospect.

Harris committed to the Under Armour game the same day LSU offered a scholarship which was more than a month ago.
