I actually just finished this book. Wasn't that big of a fan. I didn't think it was bad but I guess I'm just not a fan of the writing style.

Man, following them the whole time? That seems impossible. What would they have done for food?
What did the man and boy do for food?
from the book:
"The man reveals that he is with a larger group of people who have known about the man and the boy. They apparently discussed whether or not to check on the boy."
maybe as a group they fared better. The family had a dog, so apparently they were doing something better than the man and boy.

So they stealthily did this for months? So they never at one moment thought it would be possible to approach them? Even though they saw them not kill two people. A family AND A DOG followed them, I guess the dog only barked that one time. It's not just almost impossible to follow them but completely impossible to follow them the whole time and not be noticed.
I liked the book, and I can see how it would be somebody's favorite book, because it is very unique. But if that is the theory that is supposed to be assumed, that holds it back to me.

Well I don't assume they just stalked the two non-stop as much as maybe kept tabs on them with possible scouts. But I really haven't put that much thought into more than that b/c it's more important to understand what the family or group represents.

I'm trying to get started on No Country For Old Men but haven't found time yet.
Blood Meridian is good. Disturbing in some ways but he has a way with words that can paint the picture like no other. I think I enjoyed the words to describe the story more than the story itself. It's the ending I didn't care for too much.
I think after NCFOM i may give the border trilogy a try.

've found that his books are more intriguing because of the style of writing rather than for the narrative.
Agreed. The Road was a dark, depressing post-apocalyptic tale. The story itself wasn't very enjoyable or entertaining, but the writing is what keeps you reading...I need to read his other books.
