They drafted plenty, but they had a policy of not even trying to sign the players they drafted. Legit just drafted players and didn't sign them.

they drafted every year. a coupla years they had trouble signing some guys due to low bonus' they offered. the known problems with the astros go way, way deeper than draft mistakes. and there very well may be additional problems with their new ownership group. they have managed to alienate a very large percentage of their fans and ex-players and the local media. somehow they convinced many corporate ticket holders to hang with 'em but many, many of the regular fans are gone or in the process of leaving. it would take several pages to summarize their problems but the best way to describe it is to visualize a well run franchise and understand the astros are the anti of that.
