Fair assessment. He wasn't a disaster but he wasn't great. It just wasn't really a good fit IMO. On the surface it can appear absurd they fired him but what would another year do? Piss off more players? More mind-numbing decisions during big matches?

He might not have done anything to get sacked, but he didn't really do anything to warrant another year either.

My favorite Mancini moments were the ones where he insisted on playing a 3-5-2 or some variation of with 3 in the back and it basically ALWAYS backfiring on him.
