Running a team isn't his thing. He prefers the chase.

You need to have someone else. Its not a baseball operations job. They will bring in a business guy. I should submit my resume.

Welcome home, Nolan Ryan.

unless the owner changes will they actually try to field a competitive team?

I hate dealing with ignorant people, they are tons in houston that think he's torpedoing the team on purpose.

my guess is this is over the dynamic pricing debacle (only 22,000 fans for a weekend serious against the rangers) along with the failure to get the TV deal done.

thats bad but the rockets went the whole season and they were a playoff team.

its about money, not wins. get the deal done and more money comes in. The TV deal is where its at for long term competitiveness for these teams.

I must say I didn't think it would last this long, its quite the impressive standoff.

Do you think team spending one fourth of the Pittsburgh Pirates or the Kansas City Royals has seriously been trying?

My hunch is this is a flip job for Crane. he is going to try to sell the team again in 7-10 years

Do you think spending 80 million extra does anything but give you a 70 win team and prevents you from signing young talent to long term deals in the future?

If he wanted to flip something he could have spent his time more wisely then the 8 years it took him to get a team.
