my guess is this is over the dynamic pricing debacle (only 22,000 fans for a weekend serious against the rangers) along with the failure to get the TV deal done.

its about money, not wins. get the deal done and more money comes in. The TV deal is where its at for long term competitiveness for these teams.

My hunch is this is a flip job for Crane. he is going to try to sell the team again in 7-10 years

If he wanted to flip something he could have spent his time more wisely then the 8 years it took him to get a team.
