Is anyone a bit concerned about our hitting?

Please don't overreact to my question. I went to the game Saturday and the hitting was shaky against a 11-14, 26-22 team and their Friday pitcher only gave up 5 hits against us.

You cant ask more from our pitching, but the hitting does concern me a little. On a positive note, we are putting the ball in play, but just like Saturday and against USCe, we're hitting it right to them or get in jams where we leave a lot of base runners on.

We crushed the ball in game two. Game one was in a shirty rain game. Game three was a shortened game. The whole baseball dynamic was off this weekend.

I figured Id get reamed on this, but I just want the team to be perfect at all times. Its baseball and it happens and weve won 45, but Im just going to be pissed off this happens and our great season comes to an end! Grrrr

I was curious if anybody could think of something to relieve my stress!

I don't think it's as far fetched a question as some of you make it seem. We've been struggling at getting runners into scoring position in some recent games.

the hitting is as inconsistent as it's been all year, and that is a concern, but it's obvious the talent is there to put up runs on anyone. Last year was clearly less talented so there was more of a worry heading into the postseason. This team may not be good enough to win it all, but it would be a huge upset if they didn't make it to Omaha. It all depends on matchups once the CWS starts.

Anything less than a championship would be disappointing! This team is slightly better than '09 from top to bottom!

You needed a double, a bunt single, a sac fly and a single and a walk to scratch one run in the eighth to win the game. That is way too much production to equal 1 run.

8 hits, but only 2 runs. 7 runs on 17 hits in game 2. If you get 17 hits, you need to have double-digit runs.

A bit concerning. Not overly concerning, but something that needs to be addressed. Need more timely hits and a few more balls hit into gaps with runners on base.

Biggest problem to me right now isn't the hitting, but leaving so many runners stranded. We can hit even when were off, but it's almost never when we need it the most. That 8th inning when we only took one run, the damn based were loaded and we left everyone on base. Had Cotton had an off inning, that one run lead could have disappeared very easily.

Luckily we have the pitching where that one run is all we have needed in most games this year in those kind of situations

LSU has a big problem getting runners home from 3rd with less than 2 outs. That's a fact. They're just so good it hasn't hurt them very much.
