You are a fool, take your head out of maggie's ass. All the people in the power positions will cover for each other. It's a Washington circle jerk; don't upset the norm.

So...because a former member of Obama's own administration supports his decision, this should be settled?

Gates is a Republican who served as CIA director and was appointed as Secretary of Defense by George W. Bush.

Aside from the attack response angle that Gates just blew to bits, it will not escape notice that Republicans are blaming Clinton for a lack of security at the consulate when it was THEY who slashed $300 million from the State Department's budget for foreign embassy security.

I was wondering when you would bring this up. LINK /

quote:

Comparing FY 2011 actual funding versus the FY 2012 estimate, there appears to be a reduction in Worldwide Security Protection and Embassy Security, Construction and Maintenance. But that reduction does not account for additional funding in FY 2012 from Overseas Contingency Operations funds amounting to $236 million for Worldwide Security Protection (p. 63) and $33 million for Embassy Security, Construction and Maintenance (p. 467)... Together, there is a net increase.

In terms of people, the budget justification reported that Worldwide Security Protection had slightly fewer positions budgeted (1,777 in FY 2011 versus 1,707 in FY 2012) and Embassy Security, Construction and Maintenance had the same number of positions budgeted (1,014 for both years).

In its budget request for FY 2013, the Administration requested significantly more funding for embassy security—mostly through the Overseas Contingency Operations budget—but retained the same number of positions, apparently on the assumption that security staffing was adequate. Regardless, that budget, even if approved in its entirety, would have entered into effect after the events in Libya.

Rex, get out of here with that bull shite. You know as well anyone that it had nothing to do with security at the embassy at the time.

So the amount of security that could be funded and provided had nothing to do with the security that was provided?

Get out of here with your Republican "logic".

And who ended that career after serving two years with Obama. Just an oversight on your part I'm sure.

Now I know beyond a shadow of the doubt Gates wants his pension and laptop safe from search.

Old spin that is total BS from another day.

How much military equipment aid have we GIVEN to Egypt?

I can agree on our inability to protect that consulate once the attack started, but where was the security upgrade after all of the previous warnings and the requests for increased security. You can't say the problem is the 300 million slashed from the budget. It is a matter of prioritizing. This is the incompetence that is being covered up and they covered it up with the 'film' story just to save face.

Benghazi was a temporary mission facility.

Not an embassy.

Not a consulate.

Not a passport office.

Why was Ambassador Stevens there meeting with the Turkish ambassador on September 11th, 2012? Why not at the embassy in Tripoli?

What was the purpose/mission of the CIA annex in Benghazi?

Those are the questions that need to be asked and answered but never will. Because they would reveal some very inconvenient truths.

Did he also say ?:

"And I also would not have recieved the cable Ambassador Stephens sent requesting additional security. And I would also have commanded that our sizeable assets IN LIBYA stand down. And I wouldn't have responded to the surviving top man in Libya's phone calls for several days to give him instruction. And I also would not have told the American people the truth. Iwould have made up a story about a video by a guy in California, condemned him and had him arrested.I would have edited the facts with nonesense multiple times to make it palatable and sent State Department stooges out with a premeptive False Narrative THAT COINCIDES WITH OUR POLITICAL GOALS. And then consoled the family with a promise that I would prosecute the people who made the video that caused their death"

Beacause I'm pretty sure I missed that part.

1. You're little theory has been disproven about six times in this thread. So just give it up.

2. What embassy security money would have helped in this situation. The FAST platoon out of Rota should have been there to prevent this attack. Which is funded by DOD, not the DOS funds for embassy security. They weren't sent because the admin didn't want to offend muslim sensibilities.

All of these deserve a RESOUNDING "so what". Typical liberal diversionary tactic.

So where blaming it on Ambassador Stevens now. I see.

You probably won't miss the part where Clinton is elected to the presidency in 2016.

Did he say that he would have blamed a video? Because that's the real issue.

Those guys were likely gonna die no matter what. Why did the administration say it was because of a video instead of a calculated and planned terrorist attack?

Ol' Bob got a thing for Hillary I'm guessing.

Gates on Hillary:

" So she and I really set out from the very beginning to have a constructive working relationship. And at least from my standpoint, it’s gone well beyond that to a meeting of minds on a lot of the big issues.”

" Frankly, I really enjoy working with her. Hillary is a realist and very tough-minded in the way she looks at the world. She’s got a great sense of humor; she’s very smart, with a feel for people. She’s got great instincts."
