A chicken hawk's beak is abruptly downturned and pointed. This thing in my yard has a schnoz.

This bird is a Crested Caracara. It is a bird of prey. It is often seen feeding with vultures or hunting on pastureland. Range SW US. Tex. and Fl. to South America.

What they said. Very cool sighting. Don't often see them that far north.
