I've always had a glaring desire to own a double stack 1911, more curiosity then anything I think.

I saw today that my local Academy has one in stock. I know Para makes some solid 1911s for the price, but is this one really worth the $1200 price tag?

I've also never shot a double stack 1911, so I'm wondering how the wider grip effects the near perfect ergonomics of a single stack 1911.

Does anyone have any experience with this model?

That is one sexy bitch but $1,200 is tall bank for a Para isn't it?

I wouldn't drop 12 bills on a para. But then again you got the doc payroll.

Understood. I did some research for you - they can be had for just under $1,100 on gunbroker (that's pre shipping and FFL).

For 1200 I'm looking for a Kimber or a colt!

I have a Para SS GI Expert, not a bad gun for the price I got it at. Have heard they do have problems when you go to the double stack though.

Apparently this is the brand new re-design double stack for 2013. So don't know if they've fixed those problems or not.
