Echo has a 5 year warranty, and is sold by real outdoor equipment companies who will service the equipment.

I've had Ryobi commercial grade (no longer available) and Husky. I had the combo with about 6 attachments (thus the reason for buying Husky - it accepted all the attachments I had).

The combo system is the way to go IF you are doing work around the house with an occasional trip to the camp for some serious work.

And don't bother with tiller attachment.

Bottom line - echo, husky, stihl, red max and you'll be fine. Non-ethanol gas only.

Can I still get non-ethanol gas?

I know we are talking about trimmers but I bought an Echo blower and it went in the shop 4 times in its first year (non ethanol gas only), and it is still a bitch to crank, it is currently sitting in the corner of my garage and bought a new huskvarna blower and it works like magic

this has really turned me off on Echo
