That would indicate to me that Bama may, to some significant extent, make its decisions based upon public perceptions of recruits. For the last several years LSU has shown a pattern of making its own evaluation of players, and making decisions based upon those evaluations. Oftentimes LSU makes offers to players who are not on the publicly published lists of recruiting websites. That indicates that our coaches don't always see things the same as Rivals or 247, and see things the media misses.

It appears to me that LSU's coaches do a very good job of evaluating talent potential.

I think its the other way around. Having Bama offers jumps recruits in the rankings. Same thing happens to an extent with other teams, Kevis Spears went from not ranked to 4* after committing to LSU.

Bama cleary takes a shot gun approach and does spend 4 times as much on recruiting. Being the it program helps and not doubt a lot of players put them on their list for that reason, just like USC and Miami have been in the past. That;s why I really don't understand LSU fans that rooted for Bama over ND because its the SEC.

Saban seems much more aggressive at recruiting the nations top rated recruits. I wonder why?

This is part of Saban's process. He's been doing it for years.
