Not here to pick sides on either argument.
But now that I remember...
Lil Wayne was viewed as bigger (outside of the media) than Jay Z from about 2004-2008.
Now this isnt to say Wayne's mixtapes/The Carter,etc etc. Was better than early Jay Z or Blueprint...
But during that period of time....Wayne was on fire. I did like the American Gangster soundtrack. It kind of went back to "Old Jay Z" imo and was very solid.
But yea....
I Jay Z is probably the most accomplished rapper of all time (Lasted 3 phases of Hip Hop: Street Hip Hop, Made Man Hip Hop, and CEO Hip Hop) so credit to him for his longevity. Dont think that makes him the GOAT or top 3 imo.
He's the Kobe Bryant/Tim Duncan of Hip Hop, but gets MJ hype..
