sounds like a good plan. i'm assuming long term futures for wood are still up? I also plan to buy farmland in SWLA just b/c that's how i grew up, even if i just break even over the long run

and do you just get a forest manager to run it for you? how much does that cut into your returns?

You don't have to have a forest manager run it but you can get them to consult from time to time. There is also certain things you must do to keep your Ag exemption too with timber farming.
