Oblivion's story was so much better and the world was just more interesting. The faction missions are what really put it ahead for me. Dark Brotherhood and Thief Guild missions were infinitely better

Yeah, oblivion gates reallllllly take the game down a notch or five for me. Or how about that non interactive final fight!

The exact things were said of Oblivion comparing to Morrowind.
Unfortunately that's just the way it goes for The Elder Scrolls. Content is sacrificed for gameplay, all in the spirit of streamlining.
