It was rumored that the Clippers went after Garnett hard. He's clearly on Paul's radar. I think the other main selling point of this trade to Paul would be freeing up a max salary slot for Melo or LeBron in 2014. Again, it looks like something an agent would come up with, but his people are going to be selling him hard on staying in LA, even if it takes a stupid trade to make that happen.

I didn't even think of this, but that makes this trade that more interesting. They can still contend with CP, KG, and Pierce for a year then going big the following year.
