Does the staff use the empty spot as a recruiting tool to lure other elite backs to the program?

just gotta wait for it to settle so there can be some finality to it. obviously, if Hill is gone for good I think it would have some influence over whether we take 3 RBs this class. There was always the possibility, which I never bought, that Hill could have left LSU after this year anyway. But I think with he and Blue sharing the workload he'd be around next year too.

I dont think that has any weight here. Im sure they were telling all these kids that Hill is going to the league next year anyway so its not like it would be Hill they were sitting behind......

LF and his 2 heismans is what they will be sitting behind

there is no reason to believe that Jeremy Hill was coming back anyway. the staff was, and especially now, are looking to reload at the position. frankly, the mistake was made last recruiting yr. when we weren't proactive. so many people said that we didn't need to get a back and we didn't want to upset the LF cart. it was bullshite then and, as we can now see, it is bullshite now. even more frankly, unless there are extenuating circumstances in favor of JH we should cut all ties. only time will tell.

get better.

We kicked him out of school and freed up a scholarship?

I would say no. You can only sign 25 players regardless and Hill is eligable to enter the 2014 draft, so he could be gone after this season anyway.

Jrevonte I'm not too sure that being 'indefinitely suspended' = kicked off the team forever

Hill's issues would not make good recruiting pitch material. Hill is a gifted player and will play if he is able to return. I think if Hill rehabilitates his standing, does well in school and gets both a degree and a pro contract, that would make great recruiting material. But Hill's current situation is simply unfortunate.

It does make me wish they had gotten Adam Taylor last season.

See I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to post it for fear of backlash. Maybe for violating probation he gets suspended 4 games(ala JJ) or half a season. See a lot of you guys aren't seeing the bigger effect that could have. What if Hilliard and Blue are running like Lacy and Yeldon last year (or Gurley and Marshall)? It's certainly was a possibility before Blue was injured and Faulk was injured.

through three games:
Blue 270yds 2TDs, 7rec 45yds
Hilliard 303yds 6TDs

On the ground they had accounted for 191yds and 2.6 TDs a game(206yds a game if you count the reception yards)

Eddie Lacy 126yds 4TDs rec 10yds
TJ Yeldon 191yds 2TDs 6rec 91yds

Accounted for 106yds rushing and 2TDs a game(139 total yards a game)

Todd Gurley 276yds 4TDs
Keith Marshall 182yds TD rec 3

153yds rushing a game 1.6TDs a game (154yds a game total)

We all had fairly even opponents so whose to say our guys wouldn't have done the same if the line had been adequent and we didn't lose Blue?

TL; DR what I'm getting at is what if they are producing again on the same level, Hilliard 6 games in with 550yds and 10TDs, Blue 620yds and 8TDs? I'm thinkinh Hill leaves because he's eligible and he'd beat some guys out at camp, Blue and Hilliard would leave because both would break 1000yds and double digit TDs. They'll look at Blue's recieving skills and quickness and Hilliard's power and ability to break away and both would get good grades for the draft which would cause Hilliard to declare.

Now you have Magee and RB/WR Brazil to beat out.
