Yes, but it's the quintessential, "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario.

And, let's face it. They've probably truly sat back and looked to hit a team on the counter <15-20 times over Mourinho's tenure.

yeah the bunker-counter is mainly a barca tactic, and it has had some success

barca is just better than real at this moment. real had to adjust to barca to try to give themselves an advantage

yes, the project was doomed from the outset. He only had a 40% approval rating when hired, therefore, his only hope was to win a CL, and even then, still not enjoy unanimous acceptance.
