Pre existing conditions. Did these go away thanks to Obamacare? If you sign up for a Cobra plan after parting ways with a company is there a waiting period?

yes pre exist gone
If you leave a company and get cobra coverage is continuous

Not till 2014.

No, you can sign up the next day. Good for 18 months.
Get a paper from your last insurance that shows you coverage. That will get you in another insurance plan easy even if you have health problems.
