That is some steeply rising curve! In the first two seasons, the increase during the runs was much more modest. The series opened at just above 2 million, and reached 3 million in the season finale (an increase of 0.8 million). Season two finale brought the ratings across the 4 million line for the first time (an increase of 0.4 million over the season). Although there was no large jump in numbers between seasons this year, it took only five episodes to pass a new milestone of 5 million (a 1.0 million, or 22%, increase from the season opening of 4.37 so far already). Since the series launched two years ago, the viewership increased by a factor of 2.5x.

You haven't seen anything yet. By the end of this season, the show will easily pass the others. Trust me.

The awesomeness that is this season's story will take it to new heights.

My grandpa always said, "Professional looking graphs are the most trustworthy." So yeah, I totally trust this graph.

Side note: Grandpa was weird.

It was for the first three seasons which were decent. At this point, I'm just watching TB because I'm determined to follow through.

As Scruffy said though, this season of GoT when it's all said and done is going to possibly blow the rest out of the water.

I really wish I had never looked at the ASOIF wiki and gotten that shite spoiled for me, but oh well. Can't wait to see how it's done.

yeah that's the season I completely gave up on True Blood

ETA: Why is Homeland on there for an HBO comparison? Wouldn't Sopranos be a better show to see how it compares?

I started reading these books in 1999. I'm aware.

Possibly. I expect them to do Dances with Dragons and A Feast for Crows in the same season since they do occur at the same time.

I had to give up on True Blood too. That show has some of the worst writers on tv.

There have been some rough times. Its why I'm so cynical on the book series, even though I love the TV show. Honestly, I barely made it through DWD, even after that ridiculous wait.
