Like others, I enjoyed both, but I will say I prefer Alien. Just a better movie IMO.

I'm talking about the 1951 movie (you can watch the colorized version here, and the black and white version here). Neither Donald Sutherland nor Kevin McCarthy are in 1951's The Thing From Another World ( Wiki page).
