Is it fighting technological progress, or is it just recognizing a stupid fad for what it is?

Pretty long lasting fad don't you think? Twitter is going to be around for a while. Not a huge fan myself but social media is a way for athletic depts to directly connect to their consumers. A very cheap, direct and effective way. It will hurt smaller schools like Tech more so than schools with the bigger budgets. Anyone seen the NCAA reasoning, not that they need one it is after all the NCAA.

Social media is here to stay, and twitter is basically at the heart of it right now.
