Not really. Never given anyone grief that had a permit. There is a bill currently being discussed to change this for what it is worth.

This is the issue. We don't have 'permits' here in LA except for CC. Most people would like to open carry and/or transport without having to obtain a permit.

It really isn't going to be that big of a change. The original bill proposal would've made the car an extension of the home, but they had to compromise. The new law will read that an unlicensed person can carry a gun in the car but it must be unloaded and out of reach of the driver and passenger (not much change there). The biggest change this law will make is changing AL from a "may issue" state to a "shall issue" state. It will also state that federal gun control laws will not change how AL operates.

ETA: it will also expand the definition of crimes of violence.
