Would this replace the ivy or is it above the wall? The ivy is a staple. Would be like Fenway tearing down the Green Monster and going with a normal fence.

It is more than just about signage, the Cubs owner gave a lot of money to Romney's campaign & the mayor wasn't happy about that.

I approve of the outfield signage, don't have any love for the rooftop owners. they've gotten millions and millions of dollars for years, and the same aldermen who back them up...i bet they sing a different tune if the cubs start to make good on threats to leave.

ScoreCenter huh? Great. The Wall Street Journal has had in-depth coverage on this for months.

But I guess anything more than 140 characters doesn't interest today's media consumers.

Cubs were the most profitable organization last year. Quit bitching Ricketts, you make plenty of dough and already got most of what you wanted approved. (Scoreboard, etc)

Wait til the contract ends to build your fricking signs.

yea right the Cubs would move from Wrigley over a f-ing billboard.

Ricketts is so full of shite.

They aren't losing money, the Cubs aren't a money pit, they don't need it to compete.

Too bad, so sad if their family bought the team and didn't know about the deal with the rooftop owners.

quote:

On April 15, Ricketts said if his plan is approved, it will bring the first World Series title to the north side of Chicago since 1908.

i love this quote in the ESPN article i know it is just a bunch of politics but how could he possibly know this?

I'm hoping the signs never get approved. Would be a great shitstorm to watch if they then leave not just Wrigley but Chicago. I'm sure Vegas, Salt Lake, Buffalo, Nashville, or OKC would love to have a baseball team.

"Move" simply means out of Wrigleyville, right? Not like to Juneau, Alaska or anything. Secondly, if only for the skyline and ivy, what else does Wrigley offer? From my friends in Chicago, it's a dump that's outdated, facility-wise.

New signs!? Burn Ricketts alive! People are so stupid.

They should leave.

I believe with all my heart that Wrigley Field has been one of the main reasons the Cubbies haven't won a championship in over 100 years.
