Yep. I think they all knew about it. There has been a huge push to find a gay dude playing in one of the big 3 sports the last several months. When they finally found one they damned the gay torpedo's and went until full out homo assault. I absolutely thing SI informed the White House prior to the release of the story so that Obama could have a statement prepared. Of course I don't know this to be fact. Just stating my opinion, man.

it wasn't my post you were referring to but i'm pretty sure that the point wasn't that he was going to actually change people. the point was he may offer some encouragement for people who are in a somewhat similar situation.

Collins pretty much confirmed that the ghey is a choice
1) he has an identical twin who is not gay. So its not in his DNA
2) he had a fiance for 8 years, and 'forced' himself to sex her up. So he is obviously capable of making a choice about his sexual preference
