Signing month to month is the opposite of loyalty to a landlord regardless of how long you stay.

It means you feel like you could possibly leave at any time.

You should sign for longer terms, 6 months at least.

Even without your particular landlord jacking up rates, you typically get it cheaper with longer terms.
