Ford, Wing and the others that did not get drafted gets free agent deals with some NFL teams. What does this mean. Are they on a scout team. Will they get paid fairly well. Will they see any playing time. Please fill me in.

it all depends on how they do before the season starts. once they get the roster down to the limit, they are allowed to make a practice squad that makes a weekly paycheck. but you are only allowed to be on this squad for 2 years. you cant make a career out of practice squad. you can earn a third year of practice squad if you dont see the field, or only make a roster for less than 6 games?

but you are still a free agent while on practice squad.

Most should have stayed for another year of school...especially Ford and Ware given the situation now with Hill. Faulk had to have known his draft stock was not too high and another year in school would not have hurt....Wing is another story.

I hope Wing gets cut honestly. Such potential and talent and didn't want to be anything but be a punter. Lazy sob

Last year, 37 percent of the 622 undrafted rookies signed by the 32 franchises won Week One jobs, either on the practice squad (131) or the 53-man roster (98). Per a source with knowledge of the numbers, the Rams led the way in 2012 with seven on the active roster. The Texans, Seahawks, and Vikings had none.

As the 2013 draft approaches, the NFL is urging agents to maximize the signing bonuses and guaranteed money the undrafted players receive. Last year, undrafted rookies obtained an average signing bonus of $4,268. The average guarantee per player was $5,733.

So well paid, obviously not! If they actually make a team then I would assume they would then renegotiate a contract which would be on the low end of the Salary Cap. Playing time would be up to the coach just like every other player.
