Gangster Squad viewing, interesting things

Decent enough flick. You're going to have great acting with that cast. They kinda saved an otherwise predictable plot.

Cohen apparently was only convicted of tax evasion and only served 11 or so years, convicted in 1961 and released in 1972. Died in his sleep at age 62 in 1976. That kinda sucks for such a murderous fiend.

Although I don't think it's stated specifically in the movie, his bodyguard, Johnny Stompanato, was actually stabbed and killed by actress Lana Turner's (who he was dating) daughter, Cheryl Crane.

WTF Connery - Badd Motherfricker.

Overall: Worth a casual view. It's well made, acting is superb, plot kinda meh. You won't love it, but you will like it if you put some effort into it.
