We have no idea about the personal situations of a lot of those guys. If someone goes undrafted and doesn't even sign as an UDFA, maybe you can say he made a mistake, but there is no guarantee the extra year of college would have changed things for him.

Yes, because getting your college degree while earning the goodwill of your alumni and fans is a mistake.

To YOU that may be important. But a lot of kids don't really care about that.

And for guys that have already been on campus for four years (redshirt juniors leaving early) whats the point for them to come back? Some kids just don't like going to college and that's fine.

My point is that the worst case scenario when you choose to stay in school is that you have a degree and a network.

The worst case scenario when you leave early is that you're working on the docks with no degree.

Best case for both is the same.

Now, I know very well that some guys don't have the liberty to stay in school. I totally get that and that's part of my rationale behind supporting paying these guys.
